Hidden away on a little road that runs just in front of Haeundae Hillstate, on the Dalmaji side of the city, is the best kept secret when it comes to Italian restaurants here in Busan.
We discovered this littler restaurant while living in the area. I’d walked past it a couple of times and noticed it but only went inside after a friend of mine told me that it’s her absolute ‘go-to’ for pizzas!
While this isn’t the largest restaurant in the city, my husband has officially decided that this place serves up THE BEST pizzas in the city – and trust me, he’s quite the expert. It’s a bold statement but it’s definitely worth trying out if you’re in the area.
Their menu comprises mainly of pizzas (and when we’ve been in with children they’ve been really obliging when it’s come to ‘playing around’ with the toppings!) and a few other items including their home-made lasagna, salad and an offering of calamari and shrimp. The pizzas are always a winner here; we’ve eaten in, grabbed a take-away and even had a stack delivered for a children’s birthday party that we were throwing! If all that isn’t reason enough to try them, they do a loyalty card that you can get stamped every time you dine with them which will see you getting your 11th pizza free! We’ve tried their lasagna and their caprese salad, both of which are also nice, but shall need to go back yet again to try some of their other dishes.
Pizzeria Lardo is not an easy find as it’s off the main roads. However, if you go up to Haeundae Hillstate you’ll spy an H-Mart and a police station opposite the apartment buildings. The restaurant is on the road that leads behind H-Mart and the little local mall that they have there. It’s easy to miss if you’re not looking out for it, but it’s on the first floor above “Guarantee Coffee’ pictured below. There’s a staircase on the right-hand side that’ll take you to their main entrance – look out for their little black pig logo!
Inside you’ll be greeted by a little but quaint restaurant with maybe only 6 individual tables and then a main centre bar-like table for groups or sharing with others. It can get busy, but the turnover is pretty quick and we’ve never been left waiting long. So, if you fancy checking out if these guys really do serve up the best pizzas in town, head on over! They’re open 7 days a week from 11am to 11pm, with last orders at 10pm! Buon appetito!
