There are many beautiful, interesting, and exciting places to visit in South Korea, Seoul is definitely at the top of the list. Seoul has endless places to eat and many places to see such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seoul Tower, Cheonggyecheon Canal, and Yeouido Hangang Park.


If you want to kill two birds with one stone, Insadong neighborhood is the place to go in Seoul. Insadong is a popular neighborhood where you can find lots of mouth-watering street food, unique tea houses, cute cafes, and restaurants where the side dishes are colorful and plenty, as well as lots of cute shops where you can buy souvenirs and other unique items. It is the perfect place to eat and shop. Whether you are a foodie or just someone who enjoys good food, you must visit Insadong to eat some unforgettably delicious food, which will most likely end up on your social media accounts because it’s totally picture worthy. You can buy cute and cheap souvenirs for everyone on your list in Insadong, but make sure to have cash, as most souvenir shops don’t take cards. Take a break from shopping, and go to the O’sulloc Tea House to enjoy some amazing green tea beverages and desserts.

Places to See

Gyeongbokgung Palace is definitely worth a visit, even if you can’t say the name. Visiting the palace will help you learn a little bit about Korean culture and history. The palace does have an entry fee, but it very reasonable, usually under 5,000 won. You can buy the inexpensive tickets online, as well as check out when the free English tours are available sometimes as often as three times a day. The hours for the palace vary depending on the season, so make sure to check online for the hours of operation before going.

Seoul Tower is something you don’t want to miss while visiting Seoul because not only is it a landmark of the city, but it also offers a beautiful view of the entire city because it is located on the Namsan Mountain. The tower has an observatory, a love lock fence, and a few restaurants and cafes.  The fee to visit the tower is about 10,000 won, which can be purchased online or on the site. You can also get a ride on the cable car, if you don’t want to walk up the steep Namsan Mountain to get to the tower. Hours of operation can change due to weather and season, so checking online ahead of time is a good idea.

Cheonggyecheon Canal and Plaza is over a kilometer stream that is located in downtown Seoul. It has many beautiful sculptures and art, which changes for holidays and other events. It’s perfect for getting some exercise by walking, or to just take a break from the chaos of the city. It’s free, so you can recharge your batteries and give your wallet a break all at the same time.

Another place that’s great for recharging your batteries and escaping the crowds and fast-pace of the city is Yeouido Hangang Park. It’s a perfect place for walking or riding a bike. You can rent a bike from a place across the street and enjoy a leisurely ride through the park. The park has a swimming pool in the summer and a sledding hill in the winter. You can also enjoy beautiful Cherry blossoms at the park in the spring. The park also has a Cultural Square, where you can enjoy events and performances during holidays and other special occasions.
