Okay, I’m British, so it’s possible that I was a little overly excited about “Boots” coming to South Korea, but now their first ever store is open, right here in Busan, and I realize I had every right to be looking forward to the grand opening!
Located in Shinsegae Mall on level B1, right as you enter the shopping centre from the metro, is their brand new store. I was excited to get a glimpse inside and see just how much it resembled their shops in the UK, or more importantly, to check out just what Boots ‘own’ products and brands they had in stock!
For those of you unfamiliar with the UK brand of stores, Boots is one of the favourite high street shops that has been around since 1849. Upon my travels I’ve spotted their shops popping up internationally in the likes of Dubai and Bangkok, so it’s great to see them venturing into Korea. They sell medicines, health and beauty products, and have their own range of make-ups and every day essentials for both men and women.
I’m happy to report that they do have a lot of their own products in stock here in Busan, notably their No. 7 make-up brand and other brands generally associated with them such as Botanics and Soap&Glory.
Walking the aisles, you’ll see a mix of international brands, their own products, and, if you still need something you normally buy locally, the hot Korean favourites as well. They have their range of cleansers and moisturisers, their shower gels and much more.
The men haven’t been forgotten about with a whole section on men’s grooming and hair styling. They also sell on of s the leading brand of hair care products; Bed Head by Tigi.
With their opening, they have brought some typical promotions with them so if you’re quick you can take advantage of their ‘3 for 2’ offers, or ‘buy 1 and get the 2nd one for half price’. They have a variety of special offers on, from their sun creams to the ever-popular face masks so it’s definitely worth checking out.
While they don’t have all the products that I would have liked to have seen, I know it’s a great addition to Busan and I shall be frequenting it a bit! Happy Shopping!
